LONDON, UK --- January 10, 2007 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces that 1,650 SMART Board interactive whiteboards will be installed in 550 secondary public schools across Central Southern Italy, through the DiGi Scuola project. The initiative is financed by the Department for Reforms and Innovations in Public Administration, and will be implemented by Innovazione Italia, a public agency, and the Minister of Public Education. The DiGi Scuola project aims to improve digital literacy and reduce the technology gap between the classroom and everyday life through the introduction of new teaching technologies.
