New Online Space for Educators To Share Advice, Write Blogs, Meet Friends

ATLANTA, GA (January 15, 2007) –Atlanta-based children´s network, Connect with Kids, has launched a new online community called Parents & Company, giving parents and teachers their own space to meet online, share war stories, write blogs, give and get advice, and stay on top of the latest news about kids. It´s part of the Connect with Kids website ( which, since 1998, has created award-winning television news and video reality programs that are used in thousands of schools and school districts, including Los Angeles Unified School District, Houston Independent School District, Dade (Miami) and Broward County, New York Public Schools, Pittsburgh Public, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, and more.

"So many teachers and principals I meet want to be able to go online and talk with other educators who have the same challenges and concerns that they do," says Stacey DeWitt, founder and CEO of Connect with Kids. Joining and accessing resources at Parents & Company is free. Like a "Facebook for educators and parents," the new site allows members to create their own personal profiles, post and view photos, create a friends list, send messages, chat in forums, and write their own blogs. Members can also perform detailed searches for other people with interests similar to their own. The site´s free, online "video how-to" is an industry first, so even first-time online users can get started right away.

Parents & Company is primarily aimed at parents and educators who work with pre-adolescents and teens. Topics frequently addressed include: academic pressures, dating relationships, sports and competition, bullying, learning disabilities, Internet safety, drugs and more.
