USA Today reports that IBM’s Lotus unit will introduce a set of social networking services that function like a MySpace for office workers. Analysts say the initiative marks a renewed challenge to Microsoft. The Lotus unit is returning to its roots as a leader in providing business collaboration tools with the announcement of Connections–software that allows users to share information via the web, but gives businesses a means to control who sees the data shared.
