Cincinnati, Ohio (January 24, 2007) – Thinkronize, developer of the netTrekker suite of safe educational search products, has partnered with several leading education companies to add new multimedia resources to netTrekker d.i. and to provide new ways for users to access the award-winning solution.
Thinkronize and PBS TeacherSource, a national public television Web destination for high-quality, preK-12 educational resources, have collaborated to add 3,000 new multimedia resources to netTrekker d.i. Educators can easily find classroom materials suitable for a wide range of subjects and grade levels, including thousands of lesson plans, teaching activities, on-demand video assets, and interactive games and simulations, in one convenient location. The new resources that will be added to netTrekker d.i. are tied to award-winning, on-air and online programming from PBS including NOVA, Nature, Cyberchase, Between the Lions, and many other popular titles. As with every resource in netTrekker d.i., the new content from PBS will be correlated to state and national educational standards, and will be available to netTrekker d.i. subscribers in Spring 2007, free of charge.
In addition, Thinkronize has also partnered with Fourier Systems, a leading provider of science and 1:1 computing solutions for the education market, to offer access to netTrekker d.i. on the Nova5000. The Nova5000 is a Windows CE 5.0 tablet-computing device that meets students´ everyday computing needs, including Internet access, word processing, spreadsheets and e-mail. As the Nova5000 is designed specifically for school use, it delivers the components necessary for success in a K-12 environment, including a student-appropriate software suite, durability for extended classroom use, and mobility, enabling use outdoors. "Collaborating with Fourier Systems allows our customers to access netTrekker d.i. in exciting new ways, significantly increasing the value of their investment in both technologies," said Christine Willig, president of Thinkronize. "The mobility that the Nova5000 provides truly facilitates learning, anytime, anywhere."
And through a partnership with Blackboard, Inc., K-12 teachers, students, and parents can search and access more than 180,000 educator-selected, standards-aligned resources from netTrekker d.i., directly within their Blackboard® learning management platform. This integration is possible through a new beta version of the netTrekker Blackboard Building Block. Blackboard Building Blocks are third party applications, which enable schools and districts to extend and customize their Blackboard platform. The netTrekker Blackboard Building Block beta is also being offered as part of the Blackboard K-12 Starter Edition– introduced six months ago – this hosted product offering features a variety of resources for K-12 districts in the early stages of establishing an e-Learning strategy. This offer is available to customers who have licensed both netTrekker d.i. and Blackboard technology.
