The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, Charles J. Strosacker Foundation, Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation, Dow Chemical Company Foundation and the Dow Corning Corporation Foundation are donating a $2.8 million grant to boost Michigan’s Midland Public Schools’ technology effort. In 2007-08, the money will outfit technology labs and keyboard labs at Central, Jefferson, and Northeast middle schools; technology labs at Chestnut Hill, Chippewassee, Eastlawn, Longview, Plymouth, and Siebert elementary schools; and science center labs at Dow and Midland high schools. In 2008-09, upgrades are due at the media centers and business education labs at both high schools. In 2009-10, upgrades will take place at the media centers in every school, at business labs at both high schools, and at 350 teacher work stations in schools of highest need. In 2010-11, upgrades go into graphic arts at Dow High and computer-aided design at both high schools, at math labs at both high schools, at 70 teacher work stations, and will include new projectors in every classroom in the district.
