Aries Institute of Technology Inc., provider of multimedia curricula and services, featured its professional development series on integrating technology into teaching at NECC. According to Aires, the “Integrating Technology” video series provides educators with applicable skills and information regarding the use and integration of technology in the classroom, giving educators practical knowledge and materials they can take back and put to use. The online series comes in four different, grade-specific packages focusing on K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Highlights include procedures and resources, including video examples; courses are aligned to the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) established by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). The Aries “Integrating Technology” courses can be taken for the equivalent of three university credit hours, or 45 hours combined instruction and activity. Aries says the self-paced courses are effective both in meeting in-service and pre-service requirements. Masters teachers serve as mentors for questions.
