MPC Computers, a Gores Technology Group company, has announced a new notebook computer starting under $1,000 and designed primarily for educational institutions. The TransPort T1200 notebook features a choice of an Intel Pentium M or Celeron M processor and support for high-speed 802.11b/g wireless connectivity. It incorporates Intel Extreme Graphics 2 technology with up to 64 megabytes of video memory, providing optimal graphics performance, the company says.
