Agenda Manager, a new legislative management tool from Long Beach, Calif.-based LaserFiche Document Imaging, can simplify and reduce the cost of meetings by eliminating the need for paper-based agendas and other print materials. This web-based software works with LaserFiche’s document management solution to streamline meeting planning from beginning to end–whether it’s a school board meeting, a discussion of Adequate Yearly Progress results, or a student suspension review. Because everything takes place electronically, Agenda Manager can dramatically reduce staff time formerly spent printing, copying, collating, and distributing paper-based memos, drafts, reminders, last-minute changes, approved packets, and meeting minutes. With Agenda Manager, LaserFiche says, clerical staff can develop, compile, finalize, and distribute agendas, complete with supporting materials, quickly and easily. The software also enables clerks to publish agendas and minutes instantly to an office intranet or the internet, in keeping with state and federal open-records laws. Highlights of the software include password-protected security for various levels of access; the ability to accommodate last-minute revisions without editing multiple paper copies; automated status alerts to facilitate the tracking of necessary information; and automated eMail announcements of the final agenda’s availability to board members, staff, citizens, and the media.
