Students in laptop-rich environments can now print with ease, thanks to a new wireless print system from Silex Technology Inc. The system, called WiPrint, automatically connects a user’s laptop to a nearby WiPrint-enabled printer and, with the user’s permission, instantaneously downloads and installs the correct software drivers so the user can print. With a few mouse clicks, WiPrint lets mobile computer users print in a variety of locations–such as the school library, computer lab, or classroom–regardless of whether you have an inkjet, laser, photo, or multi-function printer. WiPrint is expected to be available sometime this fall, the company said. At press time, pricing had not been established for the product.
