The ING Unsung Heroes program awards one hundred $2,000 grants each year to help fund K-12 classroom projects across the country. Three of those 100 educators are selected to receive additional funding of $5,000, $10,000, and $25,000. Checks are made out directly to the winning educator and his/her school. The application form is simple and straightforward. Applications are evaluated on the programs originality and the innovation of the teaching methods outlined; what kind of impact the program has on the students involved; and whether the program leader has clear goals and a strong budget plan in place to utilize the funds.
