The New York Times reports that in a defeat for advocates of "intelligent design," the Kansas State Board of Education has repealed guidelines questioning evolution.  The board has removed language that suggests some basic evolutionary concepts were both controversial and being challenged by new research.  The board has also changed the definition of science, amending it to limit the term to the "search for natural explanations of what is observed in the universe."   ...
