Google suffers setback in copyright case

CNET reports that a court in Belgium ruled that search engine giant Google should refrain from showing excerpts of articles from French- and German-language Belgian newspapers on Google News and Google search results. This ruling reaffirms an earlier ruling against the company by the same court.  This decision may influence other European courts, but it is not expected to affect rulings in the United States, where laws are more permissive.
