The American Library Association’s Washington Office has launched a new podcast called the “District Dispatch,” a regularly updated audio program containing news and commentary about recent library-related legislation and other important topics, such as copyright rules and the eRate. The podcasts supplement content found on ALA’s District Dispatch blog. You can access any of the podcasts by visiting the District Dispatch blog page and clicking on “Podcasts” under the “Categories” heading in the side navigation bar. You can listen to the podcasts on your computer or download them to an MP3 player. Not everyone has the time to read the news, ALA explained–but those who want to keep up with news affecting librarians can download the podcast and listen on the way to work. In the most recent podcast, ALA Washington Office Executive Director Emily Sheketoff gave listeners a brief rundown of notable events at the ALA’s Midwinter Meeting 2007 in Seattle.
