Teachers hoping to spark classroom discussions on a variety of topics–from politics and current events, to recent developments in the field of science–can turn to FORA.tv, a new broadband site devoted to public affairs that allows users to watch broadcasts and video clips of speakers addressing political, social, and cultural issues throughout the world. Topics include politics, business, technology, arts and culture, the environment, science and health, and religion, and the videos available on the site represent a broad range of viewpoints. Contributing organizations include C-SPAN, the Asia Society, and Cambridge University. “FORA,” the plural of “forum,” streams speeches, panel discussions, and user-generated clips, with the goal of encouraging viewers to debate important issues. Transcripts of many of the video clips also are available.
