CNET reports that at New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program, students often work long into the night, just so that they may earn a master’s degree in Professional Studies. ITP is one of the most celebrated multimedia design graduate programs in the country. However, the program is an odd specimen. ITP has just a few classrooms and faculty members, and most of the work gets done in the hallways. Students take a few required courses in the first semester of the program, than are basically left to design their own curriculum. In the last semester, students have to complete a thesis project, and all must present some of their work in a twice-a-year ITP “Show,” which is open to the public, and displays the best projects to come out of the program…
