CNET reports that Jabber co-founder Jeremie Miller has signed on with Wikia and agreed to help develop a search engine, crawlers, and other indexing tools through a collaborative, open-source process. Wikipedia and Wikia founder Jimmy Wales believes Miller is a "brilliant thinker and natural fit to help revolutionize the world of search." Contributors to the project will likely include graduate students, as well as large companies that want to include search functionality int heir product, but don't want to pay royalties to a search company...
