SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, www.hitachi.us, May 2, 2007–O?Callaghan Middle School in Clark County, Nevada has begun a strategic plan to upgrade its classrooms with interactive education technologies to enhance its student?s learning process, as well as its educator?s teaching tools. Installed last fall, recent additions include Hitachi Software T-17SXL interactive panels, Hitachi Software BT-1 Bluetooth tablets and Hitachi America LCD projectors.
O?Callaghan Middle School?s Educational Computer Strategist, Susan Justad, was looking to implement an easy-to-operate and economical interactive presentation solution at the school. While conducting product research on the presentation solutions available, Ms. Justad had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the Hitachi Software BT-1 tablet and its possibilities won her over. ?As soon as I began to operate the BT-1 tablet, I could see how intuitive the unit is and just how simple it would be for our teachers and students to adopt the technology,? explained Ms. Justad. ?Neither teachers nor students will utilize a new tool if it is cumbersome and complex. I knew immediately that the Hitachi Software BT-1?s ease-of-use would make it a very valuable tool for our school.?
Currently in its first phase of installation, O?Callaghan Middle School has installed 17 T-17SXL interactive panels, 12 BT-1 interactive freedom tablets, and 42 LCD projectors (models include CP-S310W, CP-S317T, CP-X385W, CP-X430WA and CP-X440WRF). The interactive panels and tablets are being distributed throughout the school as teachers are being trained on how to fully utilize the units.
?Every teacher using the new panels and tablets is very pleased with their performance,? said Ms. Justad. ?We?re looking forward to phase two and rolling out additional units to our teachers at Mike O?Callaghan Middle School.?
