AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 10, 2007)–The Rigby ELL Assessment Kit Data Management Tool has been recognized by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) as the Best Course/Classroom Management Solution.
Rigby and Six Red Marbles, the co-developers of the product, were awarded the 2007 CODiE award for "Best Course/Classroom Management System" during the 22nd annual SIIA awards ceremony. This award honors the best preK-12 diagnostic and remediation program, data management and reporting tool including gradebooks, standards alignment tool, or package that links data and resources to instruction.
The Rigby ELL Assessment Kit Data Management Tool enables teachers to record and track their English language learners´ progress in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to differentiate instruction and meet students´ individual needs. The kit provides ongoing assessment resources to evaluate students in all four domains of language and literacy, using math, science, social studies, and language arts content. The product allows educators to screen students, continually assess learning, use assessment data to inform instruction, and help their students achieve ELL proficiency.
Established in 1986 by SIIA, the CODiE awards utilize both journalist and peer-company reviews to identify the leaders and innovators in 75 categories across the software, digital content and education technology industries. This year´s winners were chosen from more than 1,197 nominations–the most in the history of the CODiE Awards–for the excellence of their products, services, corporate leadership, and philanthropy. SIIA is the principal trade association for the software and digital content industry, providing its global services to more than 800 leading software and information companies.
"I applaud all the companies selected as winners or finalists in the 22nd annual CODiE Awards," said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. "The software and information industry continues to move at a dizzying pace, and being recognized by your peers for getting to and staying at the head of the pack in such a dynamic environment is a major accomplishment. It is one of the reasons why the CODiE Awards hold such a special place in our industry."
"We´re thrilled that the power of the Data Management Tool has been recognized. The tool gives teachers a quick and effective way to record and report assessment results-and can generate reports for an individual student, class, school, or even an entire district," said Richard Seltzer, director of product management for Rigby. "It makes the Rigby ELL Assessment Kit even more convenient-we´re always looking for ways to simplify educators´ lives."
