The Consortium for School Networking has launched a new series of mini-reports, called Ed TechNext, designed to keep educators up to speed on the latest trends in educational technology. The first report in the series highlights the vast resources available to educators and students through Internet2 –a worldwide, high-speed internet network created through a partnership of education, technology, and government experts. EdTechNext reports offer a brief introduction to new technologies and answer questions about their educational value, as well as the technical considerations that decision makers should be aware of before implementing them. The second report in the series focuses on the use of instant messaging in K-12 education. To receive each issue of EdTechNext, you must be a registered member of CoSN.
