IRVINE, Calif. (June 4, 2007)–UC Irvine Extension, the continuing education arm of UCI, announced today the promotion of Angela Jeantet to the position of director of education programs. Jeantet was promoted from associate director of business, management and legal programs–a role she previously occupied for more than 14 years.
During her tenure with UC Irvine Extension, Jeantet developed and managed a large portfolio of diverse programs including: certificate programs in Lean Six Sigma and Leadership and Management for Technology Professionals (LAMP), as well as online certificate programs in Human Resources Management and Spa and Hospitality Management. She has also been instrumental in developing the two largest international business-focused summer programs hosted by the University and pioneering a collaborative program offering UC Irvine Extension´s LAMP program to sister UC campuses for the first time.
"Angela Jeantet´s vast experience in developing successful programs and building relationships with subject matter experts are ideal for her position as director of education programs," noted Gary W. Matkin, Ph.D., dean of continuing education at UC Irvine. "Her ability to recognize and address the challenges of the education community will help us to continue to offer innovative programs that are relevant for California´s teachers."
In her new position, Jeantet will be responsible for the development and growth of continuing education programs to support teachers in California and the United States through distance education. Jeantet will manage several programs including the following programs: Administrative Services Credential Tier I and II, K-12 Multiple and Single Credentials, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD), Reading Certificate Program and several instructor-led, online courses to support teachers preparing for the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) in science and mathematics.

Jeantet to Serve as Director of Education Programs
Jeantet, an accomplished marketing, management and development specialist and a veteran in training and program development, maintains a Masters in Business Administration from the American Graduate School of International Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French from Western Michigan University. Jeantet was born in Bogota, Colombia and speaks Spanish and French.
