Ottawa, ON– Wednesday, June 27, 2007– AutoSkill International, provider of award-winning reading and math intervention solutions, announced today that it has joined the Schools Interoperability Framework Association (SIFA®) and is working towards receiving SIF certification.

The objective of SIFA is to create a set of rules and definitions that enable proprietary software programs to share information. The resulting interoperability makes it possible for schools using software from different sources to merge data without any additional programming, tools or custom integration. Districts with high mobility rates, for example, can use their student information system (SIS) as the central repository and instantly connect data generated from other software programs used by the students. The SIF Certification Program is a formal program undertaken by SIFA to confirm that software programs adhere to the specific set of rules and definitions outlined by SIFA.

"We are committed to helping our customers manage data for student achievement, says Sue Koch, VP of marketing at AutoSkill. "By joining SIFA and working toward SIF certification for all of our products, we can ensure that the Academy of READING and Academy of MATH will seamlessly interoperate with student information systems and other related sources of data within the school environment."

With SIF-certified applications, a new student need only be entered into the system once. When entered, applications within the network ?talk´ to one another to automatically enroll the student in other programs. The schools benefit from increased productivity in data collection and analysis, reducing opportunities for error and saving time.

"We are thrilled to have AutoSkill International as one of our thought leaders in the world of e-learning and standards utilization. Their participation in the SIF Association will provide real-world solutions for students who may benefit from tailored learning experiences in reading and math" states Larry Fruth, Ph.D., Executive Director of SIFA.

Product Availability

AutoSkill´s first SIF-compliant software module, Academy Data Integrator, will be generally available mid-summer. The product will also be offered in a version for schools and districts using non-SIF software programs.
