Warrenville, Ill. July 16, 2007 — IC Corporation´s newly designed RE model school bus combines industry leading entry/egress and driver environment with a redesigned engine compartment, providing a rear engine bus with best-in-class serviceability and driver environment.

Service technicians will notice the upgrades immediately. The RE now includes a side-mounted radiator that will improve serviceability for the rear-engine bus. By moving the cooling module to the right hand side, maintainers will have an easier time accessing the engine for both daily pre-trip inspections as well as all preventative maintenance. An IC Corporation exclusive is a standard, left-side engine access door, which allows service technicians to easily reach the side of the engine.

When designing the engine compartment enhancements, the latest in computer technology was used to analyze air flow around the bus, providing for enhanced cooling and the cleanest possible solution for the radiator and engine compartment.

The engine compartment of the new RE bus will house the MaxxForce? DT engine, the latest I-6 engine that is fully 2007 EPA emissions compliant. The MaxxForce DT combines power and performance with legendary reliability bus operators have grown to expect.

For improved electrical servicing, the RE will offer a flasher panel upgrade. This provides service technicians simplified electrical routing for ease of inspection and servicing. Also included in the electrical upgrade is improved grounding of the front-end body harness for enhanced reliability.

"These product enhancements on the RE are the direct result of input from our customers," says Michael Cancelliere, Vice President and General Manager of IC Corporation. "They asked for improved access to the engine compartment and we listened. The enhancements made to the RE, as well as upcoming enhancements to our FE model, underscore our commitment to our customers and the continuous improvement on the entire range of IC Corporation school buses."

The RE model features a new look front-end with a new headlight panel and new headlights with black bezels. It also offers a standard, electrically operated passenger door — the widest in the industry — that allows for easier entry and egress along with a wider field of view. Standard air brakes with ABS provide responsiveness drivers require when driving through difficult conditions.

The new RE is available now at IC Corporations dealers in North America.
