Pittsburgh, Pa., July 23, 2007 — Apangea Learning, a leading provider of cost-effective differentiated instruction, announced significant growth of its customer base during the past two quarters. The company expanded its presence and market share in school districts throughout the East Coast, mid-Atlantic and Southwest.

According to Apangea Learning CEO Louis Piconi, "Many school districts across the United States lack the resources and educational minutes to reach those students needing the most help. As a result of these challenges, more school districts are becoming aware of SmartHelp and how it can be used for supplemental instruction, remediation, intervention, advanced study and as an after school program. Most importantly, school administrators realize it is the only proven learning solution to address students´ specific learning needs for $1 per tutoring hour."

The company recently signed nearly 20 new contracts and already renewed seven contracts for the upcoming 2007-2008 school year. Apangea Learning gained additional market share in its home state of Pennsylvania, but also expanded its presence in eight key states: California, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, DC.

Additionally, Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) has selected SmartHelp to be used as educational enrichment in a pre-matriculation program for both traditional and non-traditional students who are not prepared to enter college.

"With the upcoming launch of SmartHelp Release 4.0, which provides students three levels of tutoring escalation and is coupled with a motivation system and multilingual support, Apangea Learning is predicting significant growth both internally and externally over the next four quarters," added Piconi.
