Indianapolis, Ind., Aug. 9, 2007 — ANGEL® Learning, recognized innovator of enterprise elearning software and services, is pleased to acknowledge that five ANGEL client institutions were named "tech-savvy" by the Center for Digital Education and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). Ten schools were included in the large community colleges category. The five schools that made the list include:
? St. Petersburg College, St. Petersburg, Fla.
? Miami Dade College, Miami, Fla.
? Sinclair Community College, Dayton, Ohio
? Macomb Community College, Warren, Mich.
? Anne Arundel Community College, Arnold, Md.
Vicki Westergard, director, Web and Instructional Technology Services at St. Petersburg College, attributes the college´s top ten "tech-savvy" rank to the ways "St. Petersburg College has leveraged the power of ANGEL and PeopleSoft to streamline services and instruction for faculty, staff and students." Westergard also notes the importance of "continuing to work with our technologies to design processes that are efficient and make sense." St. Petersburg College switched to ANGEL in 2004.
Recognized as "tech-savvy" before they switched to ANGEL. "Anne Arundel Community College is excited to be part of the ANGEL network," says Dr. Andrew L. Meyer, vice president for learning. "ANGEL will help us provide the state-of-the-art technology necessary to support the teaching and learning experience for our students´ success."
ANGEL client institutions were recognized in the large college — 7,500 students or more — category. Rankings were established based on the third national Digital Community Colleges Survey, which examined how colleges are deploying technology to streamline operations and better serve students, faculty and staff. Nearly 200 community colleges across the country participated in the survey.
