Orlando, Fla., August 22, 2007 — Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of professional LCD and PDP display products, has been named "Company of the Year" in the Display Technology category in VARBusiness´ Annual Report Card (ARC) for an unprecedented fifth year in a row. Samsung´s solution-provider partners and readers of CMP Technology´s VARBusiness recognized the company with the prestigious award.
In winning the award, Samsung came out on top in the survey subcategories of Product Innovation, Partnership, Channel and Overall Category for Display Technologies. The ARC award signifies the immense effort that Samsung dedicates to its channel programs, and innovative products and services that meet the needs of millions of end user customers, according to Christopher Franey vice president of commercial sales and marketing for Samsung´s Information Technology Division.
"Sweeping the Display Technology category validates Samsung´s commitment to the channel and recognizes that we understand the changing and evolving needs of our partners. Our solution providers play a significant part in helping Samsung successfully bring innovative display technologies to market," said Franey, "Winning the ARC award for an unprecedented five years in a row is a testament to the quality of Samsung´s channel programs and business strategy. We remain devoted to working with our solution providers to help them achieve profitability and success, as together we deliver to customers the innovative technology, and superior products and support they expect."
"Since vendors taking part in the VARBusiness Annual Report Card are selected by their own Solution Provider partners, the ARC has over the last 22 years become the defining research on vendor/partner relationships," said Robert C. Demarzo, vice president and editorial director, CMP Channel. "We salute Samsung for its continual leadership in providing superior channel programs and display technology products to solution providers and customers."
The VARBusiness ARC Awards recognize outstanding partner programs and superb vendor service in 15 product and service categories including mobile computers, mainstream business servers, voice networking hardware, data and information management software, and security appliances. Winners are selected based on the survey results of more than 5,000 systems integrators, IT consulting organizations, value-added resellers (VARs), solution providers and software developers.
Research for the awards was conducted by Bernett Research Services, a Boston-based data collection company, and Answers Research, the Solana Beach, Calif.-based market research and consulting firm. The ARC awards were held at an awards ceremony held on August 21, at the CMP Channel´s XChange ´07 Conference in Orlando, Florida.
