This initiative will award more than a half million dollarsto schools by providing $10,000 grantsto 51 elementary schools in the United States — or one grant per state and onefor Hidden Valley’s hometown of Oakland, California. Each grant must be used to support increasedaccess to, and consumption of, fresh vegetables — including using creative andinnovative ways to get kids excited about eating healthfully. The grant alsomust help fund equipment toward a vegetable station as well as nutritiontraining for school faculty and staff.
