Washington DC — Sept. 1, 2007 — The Board of Directors of the Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC) is very pleased to announce that the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Accenture, Hyland Software, Mapping Your Future, the Pennsylvania College of Technology, and the University of Idaho have joined the PESC Membership.
?As a college that builds its own homegrown applications, Pennsylvania College of Technology deals with data exchanges from many different organizations. Penn College, a special mission affiliate of Penn State, committed to applied technology education, is pleased to join PESC?s efforts in creating national, open standards for higher education. Providing input while the standards are under development gives us an opportunity to impact how well our own systems will be able to integrate the new standards,? states Mike Cunningham, Chief Information Officer at Penn College.
?We are excited to continue to work with PESC to expand electronic standards throughout the postsecondary education community,? states Paul Peck, Senior Executive at Accenture. ?Increasing data consistency and standards drives down costs and improves services for government agencies and individual schools. We have witnessed many of these benefits firsthand through our joint work on the XML Common Record and the XML Registry and Repository for the Education Community. We look forward to collaborating with PESC, the federal government, and schools to continue to improve interoperability within the community.? Mr. Peck added.
