The Global Action Awards honor U.S. high school students who haveled a project that had a direct, positive impact on people in developingcountries or that raised awareness about global poverty. The Awards celebrateyoung people who have shown great leadership in areas such as preventingdisease, alleviating hunger, protecting the environment, promoting humanrights, and improving access to education. Honorees receive $5,000 for higher education or a charitable causeof their choice, and are honored at a ceremony in New York City.
