Simpson High School juniors and seniors get a unique chance to learn using an online Math Excel program called R2R to teach advanced math.

This is a rare opportunity for the school since most smaller schools historically do not get opportunities such as this.

Principal David Lewis said that the school had to get updated computer systems to run the program. The new computers are now located in the library.

“It has been a good experience for the students,” said math teacher Yvette Bolton. “It is good for cooperative learning.”

The program allows students to learn at their own pace with only minimal direction from the teacher. It also allows students to help work with other students to solve mathematical problems that they possibly found troubling.
