Districts harness technology to attract, retain teachers

New teachers are coming to schools from a world in which they have been plugged in all the time, reports The Learning System, a publication of the National Staff Development Council–and they want and expect the same opportunities when they move from their student world to their professional world. "This generation does not want to be unplugged, which is exactly what we’re asking them to do when they walk into our schools," said Lynn Kepp, director of online professional development for the New Teacher Center in Santa Cruz, Calif.
