No stranger to creating low-cost devices, India has now turned its attention to creating inexpensive laptops for college students, CrunchGear reports. One of the country’s ministers said July 29 that it is developing a $100 laptop to benefit higher education. Note that the emphasis is on higher education, not the basics, which is what the One Laptop Per Child initiative’s XO laptop is all about.
