Bretford Manufacturing announced that its new RHOMBII line of reconfigurable training tables is now available for order exclusively through Herman Miller North American dealerships and will begin shipping Feb. 1. The RHOMBII tables help educators make the most of their usable space. With optional built-in power adjustment, easy mobility, and the ability to nest tightly when stored, the RHOMBII tables offer hundreds of set-up combinations, Bretford said.
Fiddlehead is a computer-sharing technology designed for education that harnesses the excess capacity of a single CPU and enables it to simultaneously operate multiple, fully functioning workstations–thereby allowing schools to extend computing to more students at a lower cost, the company said.
HP unveiled three products at FETC: the HP Assessment and Grading Solution for Education, which automates the administration and grading of tests; the HP Mini 2140 Notebook PC, a lightweight, portable, fully-functioning PC designed with education in mind; and the HP dx9000 TouchSmart Business PC, whose touch-screen interface allows students to learn through visualization and active participation, HP said.
M&A Technology displayed its MandA g-PC Ultra Lite, an affordable desktop computer built for basic needs of basic users. It’s powered by the new Intel Atom processor, which reportedly uses 30 percent less power than a regular processor. A Windows version costs $350, and a Linux version costs $300 (monitor not included).
Spectrum, a school and office furniture company, displayed furniture for computer labs, multi-use classrooms, laptop-use classrooms, libraries, video conferencing, instructional centers, offices, and seating. All of the furniture is made in Wisconsin.
