Quantum Learning Technologies (QLT), Named Finalist for 2009 EdNET

MDR, the leading provider of marketing information and services for the U.S. education market, announced today that Quantum Learning Technologies (QLT) is a finalist for the prestigious EdNET 2009 Rookie of the Year Award.  Established in 1992, The Rookie of the Year Award is part of the EdNET Industry Awards Program that recognizes organizations that have made important contributions through their products and programs to the education industry in the past year.

Quantum Learning Technology is being recognized for their innovative suite of game-based, web-delivered educational products that enable learners to reach their full academic potential. QLT’s innovative programs, Skatekids™ and Ramps to Reading™, are designed to help pre-K through 6th grade students develop literacy, reading comprehension, and critical thinking skills. QLT’s programs keep young learners fully engaged by embedding scientifically-developed and clinically-proven educational games and activities in an exciting, virtual world environment.

EdNET founder and president, Dr. Nelson B. Heller, said, “The EdNET awards judging team, coordinated by partner and sponsor, Educational Systemics®, identified nine organizations who personify the thought leadership of our industry. Their products and services are influencing the future of our nation by providing students and teachers with new and exciting learning opportunities and tools.”

The EdNET Rookie of the Year Award honors the most promising start-up venture that is less than two years old and has the greatest potential to be a significant player in the education industry in the coming years. A panel of leading education industry experts selected the finalists for the EdNET 2009 Industry Awards, which is sponsored by The Heller Reports and MDR the leading U.S. provider of marketing information and services for the K-12, higher education, library, early childhood, and related education markets. The winners of this year’s EdNET Industry Awards will be announced at the 21st Annual EdNET Conference on September 14th in Chicago.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by the EdNET Industry Awards Program as a finalist for the prestigious EdNET 2009 Rookie of the Year Award.  To be included in such an elite group of promising companies that are all having such a positive impact within the education industry is a tremendous honor,” said Alan Aldworth, Quantum Learning Technologies President and CEO. “Quantum Learning Technologies focuses on keeping young learners fully engaged through digital game-based educational programs that reflect the latest research in cognitive psychology. To have received this nomination is a terrific validation of our breakthrough approach to helping the digitally savvy kids of today become better and stronger readers.”
