Scottsdale, AZ, August 26, 2009 – Harris School Solutions (HSS) is pleased to announce the availability of an electronic teacher attendance certification capability within their SME SIS solution. California teachers are required to verify, print, and sign their attendance records for certified ADA tracking. HSS’ SME Student Information Solution is the first, and only, full K-12 solution to be certified within the state of California to support this process electronically. This new feature offers an unmatched opportunity for California School Districts to eliminate the need to print, sign/certify and store paper attendance records. Currently 264 Schools (22,726 Users) are utilizing the SME Attendance module’s electronic teacher attendance certification to verify attendance for 323,667 Students in LAUSD.
SME’s attendance accounting system captures digital teacher signatures once each teacher logs into SME and applies their digital certification for the attendance record they are reviewing. SME will track the dates of data entry, modifications, and the employee id of the person logging/modifying/certifying the attendance information. This certification can be reviewed by teachers, administrators and auditors and can be validated before electronic delivery to the California Department of Education.
