Small Projector Boasts High Quality and Low Total Cost of Ownership for Education,
Business, Government Applications
IRVINE, Calif., September 29, 2009 — Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division, known for award-winning, high-quality, high-definition presentation and display products, expands its projector line-up with the XD600U, a 3D-ready projector that blasts 4500 lumens of brightness from its remarkably long-life lamp, estimated to last up to 5000* hours in low power-consumption mode. It also features Mitsubishi’s new Diamond lens, a high-performance, all glass lens typically used for higher-end projectors. The lens produces ultra-sharp images along with a new 1.5x zoom, giving users more installation flexibility.
“Our XD600U projector is fully-loaded yet still economical,” said Wayne Kozuki, product manager, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. “We went all out to design a low maintenance projector by incorporating a long lamp life and a high performance HD projection lens with flexible zoom ratio. This new projector is powerful and cost-effective for many applications.”

Offering a 10-watt speaker and audio mix capability, closed captioning decoder, a visual public addressing feature (Visual PA), and user-friendly menus, the XD600U provides a combination of audio-visual features that help make presenting and teaching more effective thanks to technology that is easy to set up and use.
Simultaneous real-time messages can be displayed via the new Visual PA feature that allows an administrator to remotely create and distribute text messages in real time to projectors connected in a LAN. This is ideal for broadcasting important information to multiple rooms across campus and can be useful as part of an emergency management system.
Mitsubishi’s new projector is designed with two separate 3.5mm audio inputs and a RCA audio input, as well as a 3.5mm variable audio output. It also has a special built-in audio mixer so the projector can simultaneously project audio from two sources, such as a
When the speaker is not in use, the projector has an ultra-hushed noise level of only 29 dBA in low mode; students hear an instructor and not the annoying hum of a fan. The projector also offers closed captioning from a supported source. With the touch of a button, the built-in decoder transforms words into subtitles projected on the screen, an important function for hearing-impaired students.
The XD600U provides a 2000:1 contrast ratio for darker blacks and continues Mitsubishi’s commitment to filter-free technology with its semi-sealed design that helps decrease dust accumulation. The projector also features a five-segment color wheel with BrilliantColor® technology, which creates clear, vivid images from a computer or video signal.
“Our customers expect a certain level of performance and quality when our brand is chosen, and with the XD600U projector, we continue that legacy while maintaining a competitive price,” said James Chan, senior director, product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division. “Mitsubishi continues to give users real state-of-the-art offerings for more advanced applications to our systems integrators and end users.”
