21st century classrooms worth $45,000 awarded to five schools

Five schools across the country will receive 21st-century classrooms through CDW-G and Discovery Education’s Win a Wireless Lab sweepstakes.

Each winning school will receive 20 wireless tablet or notebook PCs, an interactive whiteboard with student response system, a projector, a printer, document camera, and a $5,000 software grant from Discovery Education. Each 21st-century classroom prize is valued at $45,000.

This year’s winners are Tyler Elementary School in Texas, Churchville Elementary School in Virginia, Millbridge Elementary in North Carolina, Huntingdon Area Senior High School in Pennsylvania, and Clear Lake Elementary in Michigan.

Kevin Kidd, a social studies teacher at Huntingdon Area Senior High, noted that the lab “will enable us to more fully integrate 21st-century skill sets within our curriculum and provide our students with the opportunity to experience hands-on learning. The lab and software from CDW-G and Discovery Education will keep us in the forefront of 21st-century education.”
