Sketchpad LessonLink Wins Tech & Learning Award of Excellence

Emeryville, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2009) – Key Curriculum Press has been honored with a 2009 Award of Excellence from Tech & Learning magazine for its product Sketchpad LessonLink™.  The online, searchable library helps teachers integrate The Geometer’s Sketchpad® into their math curriculum with more than 500 Sketchpad activities designed for students in grades 3-12.  Sketchpad LessonLink is one of only 33 products honored in this year’s new product competition.

For the past 27 years, Tech & Learning has been recognizing the most outstanding educational technology products in the industry.  With a solid reputation in the industry as a longstanding, high-quality program, the Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence recognizes both the “best of the best” and creative new offerings that help educators in the business of teaching, training and managing with technology.

“This year’s awards have grown to include new hardware and network categories,” said Kevin Hogan, editorial director for Tech & Learning.  “Our judges, which include stalwarts such as our resident expert Joe Huber and the staff of Philadelphia’s Science Leadership Academy, put dozens of entries through their paces.  To come out with their seal of approval is a testament to the product.”

Aligned to leading math textbooks and state standards, Sketchpad LessonLink makes it easy for teachers to find the perfect demonstration or student activity to develop or reinforce skills and concepts with dynamic, visual exploration.  Sketchpad LessonLink also offers pre-built sketches, teaching notes, student worksheets, and tips on using Sketchpad to provide teachers with all the resources they need in one place.

A panel of more than 30 qualified educators from across the country conducted numerous rounds of judging.  Evaluation criteria used to assess the more than 100 entries included quality and effectiveness, ease of use, creative use of technology, and suitability for use in an educational environment.
