RETHINK AUTISM WEB-BASED TREATMENT PLATFORM FEATURED ON ABC WORLD NEWS

New York, New York – November 13, 2009 – Regardless of geography or family income, children with autism can have access to the nation’s “most sought-after and expensive therapy for kids with autism, Applied Behavior Analysis – ABA” through a new curriculum platform available through Rethink Autism (www.rethinkautism.com), according to a segment that aired on ABC World News.

John Donvan reported that while “expert therapists…can cost up to $100,000 a year” and are often only found in big cities, rural moms like Chrystal Alexander can have the tools to help her son with the click of her mouse.  Ms. Alexander resides in Milan, Tennessee, a 90 minute drive from the closest large city, but she is able to work with her son, Aiden, for up to six hours a day using Rethink Autism’s ABA-based curriculum.

For the first time, children with autism have access to research-based lessons for “roughly the cost of about one hour of an expert coming in to provide you with consultation,” said Jamie Pagliaro, Executive Vice President of Rethink Autism.  “Just because you can’t afford [ABA], or you don’t have someone in your community that does it, shouldn’t preclude you from having access to the tools and the information that could potentially make a difference for your child.”

Used by parents, teachers, professionals and school districts across the nation, Rethink Autism offers a comprehensive ABA curriculum with 1200+ video-based teaching step lessons, parent and staff training modules, an assessment tool, and progress tracking features.  Geared towards children with autism from point of diagnosis through early adolescence, the curriculum spans the entire autism spectrum and covers a broad range of skills, including academics, language, social, motor, daily living, and behavior managements.

Today, families that otherwise would never have access to such high-standard tools are benefiting from ABA through the Rethink Autism platform.  As Chrystal Alexander so passionately noted, “When you see [your son] progress and be able to say something, it’s completely worth it.”
