New site provides comparative data on college costs, diversity, and graduation rates

The Institute for College Access and Success has launched a new web site for higher education data and research. Called College InSight, the site is a resource for anyone interested in college affordability, student debt, economic and racial diversity, student success, and other characteristics of U.S. undergraduate students and the colleges they attend. The site provides user-friendly profiles with detailed information for more than 4,000 U.S. colleges and universities. It lets users compare individual colleges, types of institutions, states, and more, with more than 150 variables for most academic years since 2000-01. College InSight also aggregates the data and provides totals and averages for states, types of schools, and other groupings. There are three ways to examine and compare colleges using College InSight: (1) Spotlight—Choose a college, state, or type of school and view a snapshot of important data with a relevant comparison. (2) Topics—Start with a topic such as economic diversity, student debt, or cost of attendance, and see how specific colleges, states, or school types compare. (3) Explore all data—Build your own table with any combination of colleges, states, or types of colleges, variables, and years in the College InSight database. http://www.college-insight.org [1]
