PITTSBURGH, PA, December 16, 2009 – The Oklahoma State Textbook Committee has approved Carnegie Learning® Bridge to Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II Textbooks as core mathematics curricula, and the company’s Cognitive Tutor® Software programs for each of these subjects as supplementary curricula for implementation through June 2016.

All approved instructional materials align to the most current Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS) for the state, and Oklahoma School districts are required to spend at least 80% of allocated textbook funds on approved titles. The Oklahoma State Textbook Committee is made up of two members from each Oklahoma Congressional District and members are appointed by the Governor with the consent of the State Senate. One member is a citizen who does not have a teaching certificate and has at least one child in the public schools of Oklahoma.
