The SIF Association is excited to announce a groundbreaking new awards program – the SIF Excellence Awards. In its inaugural year, the 2010 SIF Excellence Awards recognize outstanding SIF Implementations at the state and local level and promote the strength of SIF as a whole. Nominations for the SIF Excellence Awards are open until February 22, 2010.
The SIF Excellence Awards Program has been created to honor those organizations in which individuals and teams have done an exceptional job implementing a SIF Solution and managing the accompanying organizational change necessary to bring a new interoperability solution to fruition. SIF is a set of industry-developed and supported technical blueprints that enable pK-20 software to work seamlessly together as a single, efficient system.
SIF has experienced rapid growth and adoption over its twelve-year history. “With more recent emphasis on pK-20 interoperable data systems, it is an opportune time to highlight the many districts, states, and vendors that have made interoperability a priority and SIF the de facto standard of choice. It is the contributions of these individuals that have grown SIF to its strong stature today,” states Larry Fruth, Executive Director/CEO, SIF Association.
Three categories for the SIF Excellence Awards include:
1. Outstanding Local Education Agency (LEA) SIF Implementation: Recognizing excellence in local school district or horizontal SIF Implementations.
2. Outstanding State Education Agency (SEA) SIF Implementation: Recognizing excellence in state-wide or vertical SIF Implementations.
3. Outstanding Individual Leadership Award: Recognizing outstanding leadership within an educational organization in successfully implementing a SIF Solution.
Three finalists will be chosen in each category. One winner in each category will be announced at the SIF Excellence Awards Ceremony on 6 May, 2010 held during the Association End-User Meeting in New Orleans, LA. The Awards will be judged by a panel of state and district representatives selecting excellence among their peers. Nominations are open for submission from now until 22 February, 2010.
