North Carolina Association of Independent Schools to Offer Students Innovative Online Classes from Aventa Learning™

NCAIS to make online learning available across 85 member schools serving 38,000 students

Portland, OR (May 24, 2010) – Aventa Learning (www.aventalearning.com) has been selected by the North Carolina Association of Independent Schools (NCAIS) to provide a comprehensive set of online high school and middle school courses and instruction to 85 independent member schools across the state.

“The primary focus of our schools is to meet the needs of all of our students,” said Carol Keenan, Director of Virtual Education and Teacher Services, North Carolina Association of Independent Schools. “By partnering with Aventa, our schools will be able to expand their course offerings and really differentiate their learning while giving students and parents more options for an enriched curriculum, whether they’re looking for Latin or Advanced Physics.”

With Aventa Learning programs (http://aventalearning.com/ncais), NCAIS member schools will be able to offer high school and middle school students a catalog of 140 different online classes, including 19 Advanced Placement® courses that may not otherwise be a part of a school’s standard curriculum. NCAIS will also offer Aventa’s proven Credit Recovery program, which is designed to help students who’ve fallen behind in a subject area—and in the credits necessary to graduate—get back on track through online classes.

NCAIS Virtual, the administrative arm of the NCAIS program, chose Aventa Learning from a field of 10 vendors after searching for an online learning partner with rigorous curricula, highly qualified instructors and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual student’s needs.

During the selection process, 10 Aventa Learning courses were reviewed extensively by NCAIS faculty members and passed with overwhelmingly positive feedback. Keenan explained, “Our independent schools are very proud of the educational opportunities and very high standards that we offer our students, and we were very impressed with Aventa.”

“NCAIS has a long tradition of delivering innovative education to thousands of independent school students across North Carolina,” said Gregg Levin, Vice President of School Solutions for Aventa Learning. “Aventa is proud to partner with NCAIS as they embark on their new, innovative online learning program.”
