Students in Illinois Youth Centers will have access to over 3,000 on-demand educational videos in Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts

(CHICAGO)– New Dimension Media (NDM)—the Chicago-based provider of CCC! Core Curriculum Content streaming video—has become the exclusive on-demand educational video provider for all eight Illinois Youth Centers, encompassing over 1,200 students. Through CCC!, students will have access to educational content from Disney Educational Productions, the National Science Foundation, and National Geographic Education, among others. NDM, a national leader in K-12 educational content, is committed to helping juvenile offenders rehabilitate themselves and find options outside of violence.

“Our students are isolated literally and figuratively from society,” said Dr. Lanee Walls, Superintendent of Schools for the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice School District #428. “NDM allows us to bring the outside in by visually enhancing the district’s core curricula and providing a strategy for differentiation that addresses the diverse learning styles and needs of our students. By partnering with NDM to provide our students with top-of-the-line in classroom video content, we hope to narrow the achievement gap for our students.”

“The students in the Illinois Youth Centers need extra attention to turn away from a culture of violence and catch up to their peers academically,” said Illinois Senate President John J. Cullerton. “Access to this cutting-edge educational content will help provide the tools needed to get these young people back on the right track.”

NDM President Albert J. Nader—a former CPS student and graduate of James G. Blaine Elementary, Lake View High School, and DePaul University—feels passionately about the need to help Chicago’s at risk youth.

“What happens to children of violence has an impact on all of our communities,” said Albert Nader. “I’ve seen what can happen when one misstep in youth leads a child down the wrong road. I’m committed to doing everything our company, New Dimension Media, can do to help Illinois students become successful and contributing citizens.”
