The criminals seem to get younger all the time.
A school in Louisiana recently reported vandalism–a dozen broken windows, two fire extinguishers discharged, and profanity scribbled on walls. The damage was estimated at about $3,000.
When police arrived at the school to investigate, they found three children, ages 5, 7, and 10, walking on campus. The children were questioned, but there wasn’t enough evidence to charge them with any crime. But police say they are the prime suspects in the case.
Again, this was another school without any security cameras, making it even more difficult to identify the culprits. It makes you wonder how much damage some schools are willing to absorb before they install the technology that can help identify vandals and allow the district to seek restitution from those charged or their parents.
It also makes you wonder how such young children could be involved in such destructive behavior.
