City schools get $1 million tech grant


San Diego Unified’s middle school technology-based programs received a $1 million boost this week, reports Sign On San Diego. The Enhancing Education Through Technology grant program awarded the district the million-dollar grant for uses that improve graduation rates and encourage college readiness. According to a news release, those dollars in federal stimulus money will go toward sixth and seventh grade math programs, which play a critical role in preparing students for eighth grade algebra classes and more advanced high school math…
