STEVENS POINT, WI – May 13, 2011 – Skyward, Inc., an industry leading K-12 school administrative software provider announced today the addition of Denali Borough School District, Alaska to the growing list of more than 1,400 school districts worldwide who now utilize Skyward to manage their student and business administrative information. Denali selected Skyward’s School Management Suite as their new student and business information management system. The 950 student district will be the first in Alaska to power their student and business administrative database with Skyward products.
In Denali’s search for a new student and business information system, the district’s Director of Technology, Chris Romine, sought out a system that could proactively streamline district operational efficiency. Along with the robust functionality, Romine noted the consulting services offered in conjunction with the software provide access to industry experts that solidified Skyward as the best solution for Denali.
With the comprehensive School Management System in place, Denali benefits from an integrated student, finance and human resource software package that allows the district to manage student progress, annual budgets, employee pay and even food service, from a single, centralized database. Romine and other district leaders are excited to see cost and employee time savings once Skyward experts transform manual data management processes currently used by the district.
Key to Denali’s decision to choose Skyward also included a speedy implementation timeline. The district plans to have the new system up-an-running by July 2011. Given Skyward’s successful three month School Management System implementation for Deer Park School District (TX), a district that supports a student population of 12,300, Romine is confident Skyward’s project managers will have the Denali system streamlining district operations prior to the start of the 2011-2012 school year.
“The great state of Alaska was ready for a progressive, K-12 school information management system. We are excited that Denali will be the district to bring our industry-leading software out of the continental U.S., and into the northern frontier,” Kevin McFerrin, Executive Vice President of Business Development for Skyward, said.
Located in Interior, Alaska, the Denali Borough School District sits a distant 110 miles south of Fairbanks, the nearest metropolitan area. Denali’s three schools, in addition to one statewide correspondence school, serve a student population of 950.
