BURNSVILLE, Minn. (May 18, 2011) – The new innovative Playaway View™ video device is now available to K-12 schools and public libraries through Mackin Educational Resources.

The first of its kind, the Playaway View is a handheld video device that comes pre-loaded with multiple educational, entertaining TV shows and animated stories from respected educational publishers, such as PBS, Schlessinger Media, Weston Woods and National Geographic. Because of its small size and weight (only 5.4 ounces), children can easily take their Playaway View on car or airplane rides, to the grocery store, or to a friend’s house.

“We are very excited to be able to provide this new product right out of the chute,” said Mackin president Randal Heise. “It will be a fun tool for educators to use in a variety of settings.”

Key features include a 3.5” full-color LCD screen with shatter-resistant acrylic screen cover, built-in speaker and optional headphone jack, and rechargeable battery with AC adaptor.

The Playaway View is shipped shelf-ready for libraries in a sturdy case, just like the Playaway audio devices, making checkout and re-shelving a breeze.
Currently there are about 100 different Playaway Views available, with 10 new Views being created every month.

Mackin also offers more than 4,000 Playaway audiobooks from Recorded Books, which are highly portable, handheld devices pre-loaded with the audiobook content.

Playaway View and Playaway devices are manufactured by Findaway World. Playaway Views can now be purchased through Mackin Educational Resources, a 26-year-old provider of library and classroom books, ebooks and online resources, DVDs and more to schools around the globe.
