ST. LOUIS, MO, May 23, 2011 – SchoolReach, the national provider of school notification solutions serving the K-12 market, has announced the addition of three new features: social media integration, staff-level broadcast messaging and a new toll-free message retrieval line. Broadcast parent messaging has taken root in school administration and the new social media integration and staff account management (or “SAM”) provide school personnel with even more options to engage parents.
“The education market has evolved to the point where broadcast messaging is now widely adopted by school administrators,” said Paul Langhorst, SchoolReach Chief Marketing Officer. “School administrators are increasingly utilizing social media sites like Facebook® and Twitter® as another means to communicate with parents and their community. In addition, schools are being asked to do more with less and our social media integration and staff access module enable them to do exactly that. Broadcast notification is an effective way to reach a large number of parents, staff, and now even students, with one simple process.”
With SAM, teachers, coaches and any authorized staff member has the capability of sending SchoolReach messages to their approved list of recipients. This kind of staff-level announcement capability is a powerful new offering which can help improve teacher-parent communications and increase parent involvement. With SchoolReach’s new and streamlined social media integration capabilities, administrators will be able to simultaneously post outgoing messages to Facebook and/or Twitter with ease.
Along with the tandem release of its social media and new staff access modules, SchoolReach announced the immediate availability of a new toll-free message retrieval line. The new service allows school notification recipients to call a toll-free number to play back any message that may have been sent to that phone number over the last 30 days. The service gives SchoolReach customers new flexibility on how to reach parents and gives parents new convenience on how they wish to retrieve their notices.
The new services are immediately available to any SchoolReach user operating on version 3.0 of the system. Those on older versions can upgrade at no additional charge and are encouraged to do so by contacting SchoolReach customer support.
