Super Duper® Releases ‘Webber HearBuilder® Auditory Memory’ Software

Research-based program teaches students key strategies for listening carefully and remembering details

Greenville, SC, May 20, 2011 – Super Duper Publications has introduced the fourth edition to its award-winning Webber HearBuilder Software series, HearBuilder Auditory Memory – Strategic Memory Training for Listening (www.hearbuilder.com).

HB Auditory Memory is a research-based software program that helps students learn key strategies for listening carefully to and remembering numbers, words, sentences and stories. While playing, children practice important auditory memory, auditory closure and listening comprehension skills as they join Kim and Joey, special Recall Agents, in their efforts to save MemoryTown from Dr. Forgetsit!

Donna Geffner, Ph.D., CCC-SLP/A, graduate program director for communication sciences and disorders at St. John’s University, utilizes this program with her clients. “HearBuilder Auditory Memory is divided well into categories,” she states. “I love the closure activities— since we, as clinicians, cannot possibly recreate those stimuli which you have done so well on the [HearBuilder] CD. The preferences with the noise background are fabulous and I love all the options. I can now train my clients on figure-ground listening skills, as well as on memory. This CD is chock full of activities and levels. What a great tool for auditory training.”

With HB Auditory Memory Professional Edition, educators can work with an unlimited number of students, monitor each child’s progress, track data, set levels of difficulty, add background noise for particular activities, and print numerous customized reports for each student. HB Auditory Memory Home Edition accommodates one to four players, monitors progress, allows adding background noise at certain advanced levels, and prints basic progress reports.

Amy C. from Wimberley, Texas, has just started using HB Auditory Memory with her students. She said, “I started using HB Auditory Memory with my students today, and it was a hit! I have been using all of the HB programs this year and have been impressed. The programs allow me to rotate students on the computer with one-to-one or small group times and make seeing large groups more manageable. I like the individualization available on the games and that there is enough of the “reward games” built into the system to motivate the students, but the majority of their time is spent on the targeted skills. They love them and beg to “play.” It looks like HB Auditory Memory is another winner — my first-grade boys gave the spy theme two-thumbs up!”

HB Auditory Memory Professional Edition is available on CD-ROM for Mac and Windows for $149.95. Volume discount pricing is also available. The Home Edition sells for $69.95. The entire HearBuilder Software series includes HearBuilder Phonological Awareness (Sound Awareness for Reading), HearBuilder Following Directions (40 Basic Concepts) and HearBuilder Sequencing (2-6 Step Sequences). Every HearBuilder has both Professional and Home editions.
