WOODBURY, NY – (June 3, 2011) – Learn360, an interactive media-on-demand service for the K-12 education market, announces its new and competitively priced local hosting solution. Learn360 customers will now be able to purchase a state-of-the-art “Plug and Play” media server, directly from Learn360 at an affordable cost.

This new server option offers customers a premier media server specifically designed for streaming video and hosting multimedia content. For schools with overloaded or poor Internet connections, using local servers allows for more videos to be viewed simultaneously and at faster speeds. It also gives more teachers access to streaming video than ever before and saves time in the classroom. Affordable and reliable, Learn360’s “Plug and Play” server uses top-of-the-line components designed for high availability and increased processing and ensures that each server is built to last.

“Our new servers give customers an easy solution to local hosting that saves time, money and conserves limited Internet bandwidth, especially during school hours when a school’s Internet connection is most used and least available,” said Mike Kroening, executive vice president of sales at Learn360. “This results in a significant increase in the number of teachers and students that can benefit from streaming media at the same time. Offering this solution will provide customers with quick and easy access to the thousands of resources on Learn360.”

Servers can be configured to support any or all of the three Learn360 media formats (Windows Media, QuickTime and Flash) and any or all of the Learn360 quality level options (384k, 512k and 1.5Mb), providing the most flexible local hosting program available. Each server is custom sized and built for the schools specific needs, insuring that they get all the storage and capabilities they need and not a “one size fits all” generic server.

This new option offers competitive pricing, financing options and continuous in-house support from Learn360, as well as the ability to customize servers based on need for storage space, speed, size and more. The new servers also give schools the ability to add their own content to the servers and select how much storage space is reserved for their own content. With the continuous support from Learn360, servers are automatically updated with any content added to the Learn360 database.

“Plug and Play” servers are shipped pre-configured with requested Learn360 content and software fully installed, tested and ready to use. Pricing is all-inclusive; once Learn360 clients purchase the server, all updates are included and maintenance plans are flexible.
